International Women’s Day Celebration:
Monday, March 8
On Monday March 8, the United Nations will be celebrating International Women’s Day with the theme of “Women in leadership” through an hour of LISTENING and PRAYER from 10:00-11:00 am.
We are encouraging women to sign up for a brief 1 to 2-minute block of time to recite a poem, say a prayer, or tell a short story which will be followed by a time of silence. Please sign up for a slot during the hour in advance of March 8th by emailing Vicki Kaplan at onle3qnt@msn.com.
Sign-up times are roughly 10:00, 10:05, 10:10, 10:15, 10:20, (10:25-10:40 UMW speakers), 10:40, 10:45, 10:50, 10:55. (All those who sign up will receive a schedule of reciters, readers, pray-ers.) After each person shares, all present on the Zoom call will participate in a brief Responsive Reading – “We thank you God for this.” We look forward to honoring women’s achievements and increasing their visibility while on this most special day!
