Sunday Mornings, 9:05 am, Frasier Parlor Starting February 5
Many are familiar with the Wesleyan Quadrilateral. Based on John Wesley’s teachings, the Quadrilateral is intended to be a guide for how we can discuss difficult issues in an atmosphere of openness and respect. Traditionally the Quadrilateral has been represented as, well, a quadrilateral. However, lately the Quadrilateral has been represented as more of a Venn diagram: this more accurately represents Wesley’s idea that, in discussing a difficult issue, reason, tradition and experience should all be intertwined with Scripture as the all-encompassing factor.
The United Methodist Church is facing some critical moments and important decisions. It is important that all members spend time in prayerful thought and respectful conversation as we work through the coming months. To this end, Adult Forum will be hosting a series of conversations during the month of February on Sundays at 9:05 in Frasier Parlor South. Led by members of Mountain View clergy and focusing on Scripture, we will be learning about and discussing challenges facing our church. Look for topics and Scripture information in the weekly bulletin, email, and the February Messenger.
Everyone is invited to join in conversations melding our traditions, our experiences and our reason, guided by Scripture. Questions? Contact Carol Forbes at 303-665-4104 or at email@example.com .
