A free workshop each Sunday to inspire hope through faith and action. \nWHERE: MOUNTAIN VIEW UNITED METHODIST CHURCH\n355 PONCA PLACE\nBOULDER CO 80303 \nWHEN: Every Sunday morning at 9 am and then again at 10:30 am\nclass location: FRASIER PARLOR SOUTH \nJANUARY 6: Rev. Peter Sawtell is an ordained UCC minister and founder of Eco-Justice Ministries. In early October\, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a major report on climate change and options for action. Rev. Sawtell will share information and reflections on the IPCC report\, and facilitate a conversation about urgency\, challenges and hope. \nJANUARY 13: Becky O’Brien is director of HAZON\, a national Jewish environmental non-profit that works to create healthier and more sustainable communities. Reducing Food Waste is #3 as a solution to reversing global warming. Becky will share with us her work which focuses on reducing food waste. These ideas and solutions are immediate steps we can each do personally and collectively\, as a faith community. \nJANUARY 20: January 20: Mary Beth Downing is chair of the Green Earth Team at Mountain View UMC and a UMC Earthkeeper. Mary Beth will share where the UMC and the UMW stands on environmental justice/CREATION CARE issues. She will pilot her traveling program from DRAWDOWN solutions. She welcomes your participation before taking this ‘show’ on the road. \nJANUARY 27: Sustainable food and agricultural practices. Come learn about sustainable food production \, which is a major way to lower our carbon footprint. There will be a DVD presentation and Q&A from local experts who work in the field. Healing our planet through gardening\, farming and soil stewardship is a major factor in restoring health and balance. \n
