SUMMARY:Inclusivity Committee Presentation: Disabilities - Our Conference Work
DESCRIPTION:The Inclusivity Committee is sponsoring a presentation by Rev. Carol Forbes on the inclusion of people with varying abilities/disabilities in all aspects of the life of the church. Carol is co-chair of the Mountain-Sky Conference committee on disabilities. The committee has crafted a lay-servant class which is soon to be available to individuals and groups. \nThe presentation will be presented on May 15th during the Koinonia Hour. There will be a brief introduction to the work of the committee and the course. We will then do an exercise to challenge our approach to including people with disabilities in the life of Mountain View\, and finish up with questions\, a wrap-up and a summary of where the team is going. \nThe motto of the team has become – “Ministry WITH\, not Ministry TO” – all people who pass through our doors. Let’s spend an hour discussing how we can make Mountain View a more welcoming space. \n
