Larissa Hoffman
Director of Children & Family Ministries
Larissa has been a member of Mountain View UMC for most of her life, joining the church as a teenager after her family moved to the Boulder area in 1991. She was active in the youth group at that time, and often volunteered in the nursery and with kid’s activities. After becoming a mom herself, Larissa became active in the children’s ministry programs, leading Sunday School and serving on the ministry team as a volunteer. In 2004, Larissa became the Director of Children and Family Ministries, adding Director of Youth Ministries to her title in 2019. Her position allows her to create and lead Sunday School classes for kids ages 3 years-12th grade, organize a yearly Vacation Bible School, and to act as the primary staff liaison between Mountain View UMC and Mountain View Preschool. She also leads weekly Crossfyre youth group meetings for youth in 6th-12th grade, and organizes activities and worship opportunities for families.
In addition to her position at the church, Larissa teaches preschool for the City of Louisville and leads summer programs for kids of all ages.
Larissa earned her degree in Music Education from Fort Lewis College and has completed a variety of trainings and additional courses over the last several years that relate to her work with children and youth.
Larissa has three grown children who have all enjoyed growing up as a part of Mountain View UMC. She currently lives in Longmont and enjoys reading, hiking, and camping whenever she is able to do so!
