Palm/Passion Sunday: Sunday, April 10
Palm Sunday is also Passion Sunday – this unique service reflects the sharp contrasts of Holy Week. On Palm Sunday story we are reminded of that joyous procession of Hosannas, praising Jesus as he enters Jerusalem. The service then transitions to a reading of the Passion narrative, allowing us to hear the whole story of Jesus’s suffering and death. This will be a highly dramatic service with music by the Sanctuary Choir and the Handbell Choir that will set the stage for Holy Week services.
Maundy Thursday: April 14, 7:00 pm
Maundy Thursday service will be a semi-staged production the Living Last Supper. We will celebrate what can be the most important Communion service of the year! There will be congregational singing in what will be a powerfully transformative event.
Good Friday Tenebrae: April 15, 7:00 pm
This year’s Good Friday service will be a deeply meaningful time to be together to hear the Seven Last Words of Christ. We will experience lights and candles that move us from light into the darkest dark. The Sanctuary Choir and the Handbell Choir will be providing beautiful and meditative music. The three days of waiting have begun.
Easter Sunday: April 17, 9:00 & 10:45 am
Easter Sunday will be a resplendent expression of the Resurrection of Christ, the final glory that we have been waiting and preparing for during Lent. Our own transformation during this season has been represented in the transformation of a caterpillar into chrysalis and finally a beautiful butterfly. The children will have special butterfly activities and an Easter egg hunt following the service. A fourteen piece orchestra will accompany the Sanctuary Choir and Handbell Choir.
