Mountain View Outreaching

Mountain View Outreach has lots of ways to reach out to others this Fall:

1. Afghanistan Refugee Response:
Outreach is teaming up with Strangers As Neighbors to help you find ways you can help with the efforts to relocate the refugees coming to our state. Please see the article in this newsletter from Strangers As Neighbors regarding different ways you can donate and help.

2. Crop Walk: October 24th
Members of Mountain View have signed up to walk or rock to support Community Food Share, Church World Service, and Bread for the World. Jars are in the Narthex to make an offering to support the walkers, or you can sign up to be a walker/rocker.

3. Thanks Giving in the Park: November 7, from 12:30 – 1:30 pm
This is the yearly event in which Mtn View hands out warm gloves and socks to homeless and needy people in the park at Canyon and Broadway. You can purchase the gloves and socks at an Outreach table in the Narthex on Sundays starting October 3rd.

4. Drive-through Food Drive for Community Food Share: November 21, 12:30-2:00 pm
Bring a trunkful of canned goods and other non-perishable food items to the Mountain View parking lot and Outreach Team members will unload them for you and deliver them to the Community Food Share. Let’s see if we can surpass last years total weight in giving!

5. Hygiene Kits
All families are asked to make at least one Hygiene Kit every month to be given to those in need. The Hygiene Kits can be brought to the worship service on the first Sunday of the month where they will be collected in a basket in the front of the sanctuary and blessed. These kits will be sent to help with those in need following disasters or displacements (like the Afghanistan refugees). Contact Belinda Strickland sbstrickland@mac.com if you need a list of things to include in the kits.

6. Advent Marketplace: December 5, 2021
More information to come in the November Messenger

Thanks Mountain View for all your Outreaching efforts!
