The Strangers as Neighbors UMW Study Group will begin a new bible study on Tuesday, September 25. We welcome all, and especially invite women of faith since the final chapter is entitled “How Can Christian Women Respond?” We plan to meet at 6:30 at Mountain View for six weeks 9/25-10/30.
Immigration is a complicated issue. Most of us don’t know how to approach it. On the one hand, we feel deep compassion when we see images of refugees fleeing war-torn countries, or hear stories of families who are coming to the U.S. in search of a better life. On the other hand, we have concerns about national security and want to make sure that our laws are followed.
Our study is entitled “Ruth and Naomi Project: Welcoming the Stranger in Our Midst.” It is based on resources created by World Relief and edited by Katelyn Beaty, former managing editor of Christianity Today. Other Christian leaders, like Beth Moore, are part of the community of Christian women who developed this content.
As we study the modern-day issues around immigration, you are encouraged to join us. Contact Trudy Gygi mabelgygi@yahoo.com for further details.
