Advent Marketplace: December 2, 2018, Barker Hall, 8:30 – 12:30. This is always a festive collection of vendors selling fund-raising products such as Fair Trade, UMW nut sales and more. Our own Jenny Hlawatsch will be there with her Singing Chef wares. Come and enjoy some of Jesus’ birthday cake and cider while supporting worthwhile organizations and businesses. Christmas music by Bev Fest.
Share-A-Gift: This is a project that provides new or gently used toys to less fortunate children in the Boulder Valley School District. You can bring your fuzzy teddy bears or growling dinosaurs to the Narthex boxes on Nov 25, Dec. 2 and 9. Toys will be distributed on Sat. Dec. 15 and you can take part in this if you are interested. Volunteers are encouraged, ages 16 and up, for Dec. 10-14. For more information visit0 www.shareagift.org or call JoAnn at (720)446-TOY1.
Family-to-Family: Outreach will be collecting $25 gift cards from Target or Walmart for the Family-to-Family Holiday Program – (Boulder County Housing and Human Services). This is how it works: you buy the cards and give them to us in the Narthex. Cards will be given to Boulder county families and individuals with the lowest income and greatest need. An Outreach person with a donation box will be in the Narthex in between services on Nov. 25, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 or track us down. Note: Please make sure the dollar amount is clearly marked on the card.
Mozart’s Stocking: Chief Elf Glen Strand will be buzzing around the Narthex on Dec. 9 and 16 with a Christmas stocking collecting money. You may
contribute to a personal gift for Mozart Adevu, our covenant missionary who is doing such a great job in Ghana.
Red Scarf Project for grown former foster children: We need red scarves delivered to the church office by November 25. Consider adding a personal note of encouragement with your first name and Mountain View UMC, Boulder, Colorado, so that the recipients will know from whom and where their scarf is coming.
Scarves and hats for Boulder County Senior Citizens: deliver to the Church Office by December 9 for collection and distribution with the gift baskets in the days before Christmas. Jean Barker was our ‘angel’ for this project and we want to honor her leadership in reaching out to our neighbors.
Family to Family program: collecting gently used coats for distribution to children along with handmade hats and mittens. We will be collecting gift cards and the hats and mittens by December 9. For more information, yarn from our ‘stash,’ or pattern suggestions, contact Cheryl Runyon at 303-494-0434. Thank you!
