Have you ever considered going on a mission trip? Are you interested in hands-on experience helping in the aftermath of disaster or poverty? Have you envied those people who went to Bolivia, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Honduras, or Homestead, Florida, Moss Point, Mississippi, Eagle River, Alaska with BUMMP? Or on other mission trip? Being God’s hands and feet is very rewarding. However, it does cost money that I don’t have as a retired school teacher. And I would need a dog sitter.
Great news! The Outreach budget has money set aside to help cover some of the costs for adults from our church to participate in mission trips. We on the Outreach committee believe that the congregation would love to help such things happen. Perhaps you have some secret construction skills, speak a foreign language, or you simply care a lot and can learn to do stuff. Please consider being part of a work team, or better yet, leading a work team in the future. Leadership training is available. BUMMP also has scholarships available. It could change your life and the lives of others. Can you help Mountain View UMC has an awesome legacy of missions created by Bill Youngblood and Don Wisdom. Can you help?
