We Will See Jesus Through…
During the Lenten season we have been looking at different ways of seeing Jesus. Each week there is a symbol on the communion table (have you noticed?), and we light fewer and fewer candles which symbolizes our journey to the darkest day, Good Friday. And have you noticed the images of YOU, the people of this wonderful church, coming together week by week to eventually merge into a larger image that will be fully revealed on Easter Sunday?
The visual element of worship is important. It can help us see Jesus in the world and in our lives in new and inspiring ways. The church décor is important in that it symbolizes “when” we are in the church year, and offers us guidance and focus in our prayer and meditation. I am grateful to Connie Balazs and Margaret Reagor for their work in setting up our visual offerings. They are able to take ideas that we come up with together and make them a reality. During the upcoming weeks and months, there are MANY opportunities to help with the visual aspects of worship. If you can set up a table for outdoor worship, or iron/steam liturgical swags, or have thought about designing and creating banners or paraments; or if you can build boxes, or rustic crosses to sit on tables, or generally like to work with hammer and nails, or carry stones or lay sand to create interior decorations in the near future… we are looking to recruit YOU to help us with many of the visual elements that are important in the large scope of Worship Arts. Join the team. Contact Connie (303) 666-1842 (brbalazs@comcast.net) or myself (worship@mtview.org) to be a part of this important ministry.
