Casa de Paz Update
Good news! Casa de Paz, a nonprofit in Aurora, CO, that helps refugees seeking asylum in the United States has recently purchased a house (without a mortgage)! Casa de Paz began in a one-bedroom apartment in 2012 and has grown to serving more than 3,000 detainees and their families, relying on over 2,000 volunteers who minister by providing visits, writing to pen pals, meals, transportation and shelter, along with emotional support through the immigration detention process. The new house is within walking distance of the ICE detention facility in Aurora. But, Casa de Paz needs helping in moving from their current site, a little home maintenance, and a little shopping assistance to make the house a home. Want to help?
