Mountain View UMC Mission Trip to Guatemala
It’s been over 10 years since Mountain View sponsored an adult mission trip so we are very excited to once again be able to reach out to others in need in the world in Christian love.
May 29- June 8, 2024 Mountain view will be sending a team to Guatemala under the guidance of Pura Vida ministries to work with the people there on three projects. Team members will have the chance to work with a Pura Vida construction team leader to construct a cinder block house for a needy family, or provide an English language camp to children to aid in their future school success or work with local gardeners to start a community garden which can benefit the nutritional needs of families of the community and the children of the Nutrition Center where the garden will be established.
Presently we have 12-15 people committed to being team members, including 4-6 youth. As part of the Mountain View family you can participate in this exciting experience by being a team participant, sponsoring a team participant with a donation to help defray their travel expenses, donating to the entire group, becoming a virtual team participant ($250 to Pura Vida gives you daily reports and videos of team progress), or support the team through planned fundraising efforts. In lieu of any of the rest of the ways of participation, we are asking that all members of our Mountain View family Pray. Pray for the team and God’s guidance to do God’s work, pray for the people we will be befriending in Guatemala, pray for the bonds we will be forming and the love we will be sharing that it will strengthen God’s evidence in the world.
